Google seems to have launched Movies in Google Play Store India. On logging onto my Play Store I could see The Amazing Spider Man and Total Recall.
There seem to be 2 pricing models, a Rental and a full purchase. Spidey is priced @Rs.490 for HD and Rs.190 for non HD. Total Recall is for Rs.120 rental and Rs.190 for purchase.
I wonder if they have the pricing right for the Indian market as the pricing seems to be a bit high. However, it seems to be a step in the right direction to killing privacy.
The store still does not have any Indian movies.
To watch the movies one needs to download a separate Movies app from the Google play store.
